Health & Safety Testing Guidelines
It is your responsibility to ensure the correct CITB Health and Safety Test is booked.
If the correct documentation is not provided, you will not be permitted to sit the test.
What to do on the day of the test
- arrive at least 15 minutes before your test starts
- please wait in your vehicle in our car park.
- make sure you bring ID that includes your photo and signature; see the full list of acceptable forms of ID (PDF, 120KB). If you do not have a suitable form of ID, you will need to fill in the Identification Waiver Form (PDF, 167KB). Instructions on how to complete and use the form are included in that document.*
- After your test, you must keep your Score Report safe as it has important information on it relating to your card application
CCTV In Operation
As per the CITB/Pearson Vue Testing requirements, please be aware that both Audio and Video is recorded when you enter the testing room.
If you are under 16:
You will need to take a completed parental consent form (PDF, 120KB) with you to your test.
In the exceptional circumstance that you don’t have any photographic identification, you will also need to take a completed Under 16 confirmation of ID Form (PDF, 160KB), signed by a member of the teaching staff at the school or college that you attend.

About the Operatives HS&E test
The Operatives test ensures workers have a minimum level of health, safety and environmental awareness before going on site. This test covers the following five core knowledge areas:
- Working environment
- Occupational health
- Safety
- High risk activities
- Specialist
The pass mark for the Operatives test is 90%. To pass, you need to answer at least 45 out of 50 questions correctly.
